The County Library Tallaght

The County Library in Tallaght, which reopened in April 2008 following a major refurbishment programme, is in the heart of the cultural quarter of the Tallaght town centre, which includes the Civic Theatre and Rua Red Art Centre. The library is located adjacent to the Square Shopping Centre and at the terminus of the Luas red line.

There is always something happening at the County Library or any of the other village libraries.

The County Library is a light-filled, spacious and customer-orientated building which provides a large and up-to-date book stock, free state of the art computer facilities, self-service terminals, printing and photocopying systems, a digital training tech space and a conference suite, a teen zone, a children’s library and a local studies area.

In keeping with our service commitment to promote accessibility for all citizens, access to the building is facilitated by automatic doors and movement within the building is facilitated by a lift and a ramp. The library operates a home delivery service for people who are unable to visit the library. A detailed summary on access features of the County Library is available here (pdf, 13Kb).

The multiple award-winning County Library is now included in a European database for inspirational libraries.

Joining the library is FREE and you can join online at www.southdublinlibraries.ie.
