Rathcoole Village
Rathcoole, accessible just off the N7 national road at junction 4, is a village with a long history. Rathcoole derives its name from a rath, or fort, reputedly built in the area by the father of Fionn Mac Cumhail, an Irish folkloric hero.
Home to some excellent food options, it also enjoys nearby amenities such as Beech Park Golf Club and Rathcoole Park.
The village will also be the starting point for the Slade Heritage Trail, under development by South Dublin County Council in conjunction with the local community, under the LEADER Programme.
A guided Village Heritage Walk is also downloadable.
