Kilbride Circuit Hike

Sunday 17th March 2019 – Kilbride Circuit Hike (the 4 Cs)

Description: The walk starts from Kilbride Military camp car park. We will walk clockwise climbing Seahan, Corrig, Seefingan (highest at 725m) and Seefin. This walk is only recommended for walkers with a reasonable level of experience. You will traverse boggy mountain tops and the 1st climb to Seahan is strenuous. Weather permitting the views will be stunning. As the ground can be very boggy in places boots are the recommended footwear and gaiters would come in handy.
Note: to book your place for this walk you are required to give your car registration number for entry to the Military Camp.

Climb: 550m
Duration: 4.5 Hours
Meeting point: Entrance to Kilbride Military camp at 10:15, cars will be escorted to car park in convoy so please do not be late.
Degree of difficulty: Moderate/strenuous (Seahan climb)
Bring: Good walking boots, gaiters, rainwear, hot drink, food and water.

Directions to Kilbride Military Camp: Take the R114 from Rathmines/Rathfarnham, via Firhouse Road, to Old Bawn Cross (Old Mill Pub). Continue through the junction, remaining on R114 on the Bohernabreena Road. Pass the entrance to Bohernabreena Water Works and Ballinascorney Golf Course (now Footee), still on the R114. Take the second left after Footee onto L7462 at a stone Celtic Cross. (The turn is at a V-junction). Continue along this road for a few kilometers and you will see the Military Camp on your left. Continue to main entrance gate.
If coming from the M50: Exit at Junction 12 (Knocklyon/Firhouse), take R113 (St Colmcille’s Way/Killininny Road) towards Firhouse. At Old Bawn Cross (Old Mill Pub), turn left onto R114. Then, follow directions above.
